Culinary daredevil ate world's hottest chili now hospitalized

They don't give Darwin Awards if you do something stupid but don't die from it, but this guy should get a "First Runner-Up" award. He tried to tackl the world's hottest chili called "Carolina Reaper" and was left with excruciating headaches for his troubles.

Several days after eating the veggie at an upstate New York chili eating contest, the unidentified man, 34, experienced splitting headaches lasting several seconds at a time.

Following the contest he began dry heaving and experienced intense neck and head pain which started at his back and later spread across his entire head apparently containing an underdeveloped brain.

The headaches persisted and he decided to go to the emergency room.

His only symptom was a slightly elevated blood pressure 134/69mm Hg, the diastolic number coincidentally the same as his IQ. All neurological tests came back negative.

The doctors diagnosed him with thunderclap headache secondary to reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome (RCVS). It's a temporary artery narrowing often accompanied by severe [thunderclap] headaches.

Fortunately, the condition is temporary. 

Unfortunately, he has yet to go to the toilet.
