NoKo Nuke Scientist who defected kills himself

A North Korean nuclear scientist who defected from North Korea committed suicide in his jail cell rather than return to the rogue nation and face the consequences meted out by the Kim Jong Un Goon Squad and Ping Pong champions.

Radio Free Asia identified the scientist as Hyun Cheol Huh [?] an unlucky soul who was detained in Shenyang, China, on November 4. He was then sent to Sinuiju about two weeks later, and it was there Hyun took the poison, the Korean Herald reported.

Hyun was the lead researcher at the physics center of the State Academy of Sciences in Pyongyang, according to Radio Free Asia.

"He killed himself only a few hours after he was placed in solitary confinement at the State Security Department in Sinuiju city," the broadcaster said, unaware of the irony in the word "security."

"He died before he could be questioned about the reasons for his escape, who had helped him, and what his route had been," the report said.

Gee, I wonder if the reasons for his escape might have had something to do with his desire not to have to be forced to go tap-dancing in a mine field or play "Dodge Ballistics."

Hyun took leave from his job "because he was showing signs of anxiety over his research projects," in which he worked with high levels of radioactivity wearing only a 'hand-me-down' cheap Chinese hazmat suit that belonged to another nuclear scientist who hasn't been heard from in quite a while.

"Suddenly, he [Hyun] visited relatives near the border without letting his family know and without carrying valid documents for travel. And when he learned that the authorities were looking for him [in order to provide him with 'dancing lessons'] he simply disappeared," a source said.

Reports indicate that Hyun wanted to join up with other defectors and the Chinese were unaware of his identity when they were tipped off by North Korean intelligence.

On Friday, the Daily NK reported that North Korean troops are now ordered to shoot defectors trying to escape--even if they've made it to Chinese territory. If the troops refuse, they will face the firing squad themselves. If the firing squad refuses to shoot the troops who refuse to shoot defectors, they will be blown up in indescribable ways with Kim's own chubby hands.

This latest crackdown comes on the heels of a high-profile defection of a soldier whose dash to freedom was caught on camera.
