Another Dem resigns after rape, misconduct allegations

Another Democratic Party official allegedly asked the wrong woman, "May I give you a liberal squeeze?" By 'wrong,' I am referring to a woman other than his wife or partner.

Both parties, but particularly the Democrats, need to put out a manual for politicians and other people in power positions. They can call it: "How To Be Appropriate With People of the Opposite Gender, Both Real and Imagined."

A regional director of California's Democratic Party has resigned after being accused of rape and inappropriate behavior.

On November 18th, Craig Cheslog, 46, allegedly "acted in an inappropriate and sexually aggressive manner" toward a 23-year-old woman after an executive board meeting according to a letter sent to the party's secretary by party leaders, the Los Angeles Times reported.

The accuser, Maddy Dean, revealed herself to the newspaper as being the accuser of Cheslog of acting in a sexually inappropriate manner and wrote in a Facebook post that she "came forward to protect others, so this has always been about more than just me."

I don't know if it's me, but it's beginning to sound like all of the women in the United States have gotten together in a closed-door meeting and decided they're not going to take it anymore. You can't call this a fad, but it feels like a societal turning point.

"Young people deserve an inclusive and safe environment in which to engage in politics. We deserve transparency during these investigations in our workplaces. We deserve to be heard, not silenced by those who decide our futures," she added.

Why 'young people'? All people, young and old, male and female deserve what she's saying, and it isn't just about politics.

Additionally, another woman, who remains anonymous, reportedly witnessed Cheslog's alleged behavior toward Dean and also came forward with her own accusation, "that Mr. Cheslog raped her at a CDP executive board meeting the previous year," according to the letter.

Predictably, Cheslog wrote in his resignation letter to party secretary Jenny Bach that he didn't want to become a "distraction" so he's resigning. He said that he was "confident" he would ultimately be exonerated, the Times reported.

Which is to say, he's calling both women liars.

Cheslog has been fired from his position at Common Sense Media, a nonprofit liberal organization that attacks conservative values such as a baby's right to life and the U.S. Constitution. He has also resigned from a school district's board of trustees, because nobody trusts him.

The real irony to all of this is the fact that the alleged inappropriate behavior happened during a weekend in which preventing sexual harassment was the main topic of discussion.

Guess it allegedly turned Cheslog on.
