Car bomb attack in Turkey

Istanbul -- Yes, it happened again. A car bomb blast killed 13 Turkish military and wounded 55 others, mostly military personnel in the central Anatolian province of Kayseri on Saturday.

The Turkish armed forces said that a car bomb went off at 8:45 a.m. It targeted military personnel who were on-leave from the Kayseri Commando Brigade.

The report said 48 troops were wounded but among them there were possibly civilians who may have also been hurt.

Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu said in all, 55 people had been wounded in total and 6 were in critical condition. "We are determined in our fight against terrorism," he said.

Turkish Chief of Staff Hulusi Akar, speaking beside Soylu, vowed to continue the "fight against terrorists inside and outside the country," until "every last terrorist is neutralized."

The best way to neutralize a terrorist is to kill them, otherwise they keep coming back like hungry rats.

There has been no claim of responsibility by any individual or group, but I'm betting the petting zoo on Islamic terrorism.

State-run Anadolu Agency said the bomb went off at an entrance gate of Erciyes University hitting a public bus that had soldiers who were on-leave among its passengers.

Last week, a car bomb struck riot police posted outside a soccer stadium in Istanbul. That attack killed 44, mostly police officers, and wounded dozens more. Kurdish militants, who are known for targeting military and police, claimed responsibility for the attack.

Perhaps they're responsible for this one as well.

Turkey's prime ministry office imposed a temporary blackout of news coverage of the explosion to keep fear and panic in abeyance.
