Charlotte police to release video

It's confusing. First the Charlotte police chief Kerr Putney said he could not release the video of the Keith Lamont Scott shooting Tuesday because the case was now with the FBI. Now he announced that he has decided to release the dashboard and body camera video of the shooting that has given rioters a chance to show their stuff.

Putney said the video would be released later Saturday now that the city has had ample time to morph into Detroit. Rioters have attacked bystanders, a white guy, reporters and they've broken windows looted buildings and jumped on police cars.

Not to mention the potty mouths.

Putney, who appears to be making stuff up as he goes along, said he decided to release the video as he's now confident it wouldn't screw up the investigation into the shooting of Scott, who was a felon.

Scott's family has demanded the police release the video which consists of a dashboard camera in one police car, and at least one body camera.

Although Scott's wife claimed that he was only carrying a book, the police say that he had a gun and now the story appears to be changing on the Scott family side. Putney said that Scott was "absolutely in possession of a handgun" and cops saw marijuana in his car, which caused them to perform their sworn duty.
