Over 20 dead in Benghazi jihadist car bombing

At least 23 are dead and dozens more wounded from a car bombing targeting security forces in Benghazi.

Some experts believe that a connection exists between the car bombing and the U.S.-launched campaign the previous day against the Islamic State in their current stronghold in Sirte, Libya, several hundred miles west of Benghazi.

A hospital official spoke to the Associated Press saying the bodies  were still arriving there in the aftermath of Tuesday's bombing in the al-Qawarsha district on the outer fringes of the city. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was a newly hired janitor and wasn't authorized to speak.

The Shura Council of Benghazi Revolutionaries, a coalition of several Islamic militias that includes Ansar al-Sharia, (an Al Qaeda affiliate) took credit for the bombing.

They posted the claim on Twitter and it isn't known how many retweets and 'likes' the tweet received.

Hillary Clinton was unavailable for comment.
