Some facts and Brain Flushings

Fact: there are more journalists in prison in Turkey than there are in China. That's a tidbit thrown out by Charles Krauthammer of Fox News.

John Kerry hopes for all good things for Turkey but he has nothing to add regarding the coup. Sometimes is seems that Kerry's hair has more intelligent things to say than Kerry's mouth.

Fact: Our NATO responsibilities with Turkey is to act on their behalf if there is an external threat. However, we are not responsible to act if the threat is internal.

This Turkish coup is an internal struggle between the former secular government versus the Islamic government that Erdogan has slowly crafted. He has done little to stop the movement of ISIS across Turkey's borders. He has been seeking greater power in the country and is beginning to take on the complexion of Mohamed Morsi of Egypt.

Fact: Turkey has the most powerful military of the region.

Fact: Martial law has been declared in Turkey.

As I write this, there is a group of people going up against the military and are screaming "Allahu Akbar" as the military shoots over their heads. It's about 3:00 am in Turkey and it looks like it's going to be another crazy day in the world.

Fact: Allah is not greater than Jesus.
