Obama can't stop himself on gun control

As predictable as Sean Hannity's Saudi Arabia talking points on women not being allowed to drive cars, President Obama performed his  own predictable diatribe on gun control.

Of course, he first mentioned how terrible the murders were of those police officers in Dallas Thursday. He probably has a template he uses for shootings before he begins to speak about what he really wants to speak about.

Obama called the murders "senseless."

That itself is a senseless statement--the reason those crazy cowards shot at police made sense to them and we need to learn how it did. What were they thinking? What did they expect to accomplish, if anything? What can we predict about this particular demographic so that we can better protect ourselves from them?

Instead, Obama went back to his default position renewing the push for more gun control measures. He obviously wants to make it more time-consuming for people to get guns. At least for guns obtained legally.

Guns obtained illegally will take less time.

But if people get their guns illegally, they will be in big trouble, especially if they kill people without guns with their illegal guns. And to make matters worse, if those killers with illegal guns use an extended ammo clip, they'll be in even bigger trouble.

Rather than denouncing Black Lives Matter and all the cop-hatred and anarchy BLM stands for, Obama treats them like he treats Islamic terrorists: with less anger than he treats Donald Trump.

He hit all the checkmarks in his speaking at the NATO summit in Poland, calling it a "vicious, calculated and despicable attack."

Now that ought to get them to stop if they know what's good for themselves.

Obama vowed that "justice will be done" whenever any miscreant steps over the red line he has drawn in the sand. And this time he really means it--no kidding. They will get justice like the inmates at Gitmo are getting justice.

"Today is a wrenching reminder of the sacrifices that they make for us," Obama said, referring to law enforcement.

Then, unable to contain his political agenda any longer, he added: "We also know that when people are armed with powerful weapons, unfortunately it makes attacks like these more deadly and more tragic, and in the days ahead we're going to have to consider those realities as well."

Let's put a stopwatch on him next time there's a terrorist attack using guns instead of pressure cookers, bombs, knives or cars, and time him on how long it takes to go from the sad template to the bad guns template.

What President Obama forgot to mention in his speech was that when police go up against people who are armed with powerful weapons, it would be nice if they did not have their tactical tools, such as their body armor and armored vehicles taken away from them by a president who doesn't want them to look too "militaristic."

Optics only count for the 'little guy,' in Obama's mind.

It was interesting to see how terrified the crowd of anti-cop protestors were as they ran away from danger while the police bravely ran toward it.

I hope they one day realize what hypocrites they are.
