Global News has pants on fire

Katie Couric's documentary "Under the Gun," caught flak from Second Amendment supporters and others who actually believe journalism and journalists ought to be honest and not misrepresent the truth.

What a concept.

Couric, the Global News anchor for Yahoo, interviewed the Virginia Citizens Defense League (VCDL) on Monday. At one point in the film she asked the VCDL, "If there are no background checks for gun purchasers, how do you prevent felons or terrorists from purchasing a gun?"

One member of the VCDL answered immediately, but you would never know that because the film was edited and there was an 8 second silence. The faces of the VCDL members looked somewhat blank, giving the impression that they were embarrassed by the question.

Thankfully, the Washington Free Beacon revealed how Couric's documentary was doctored to prove her point and make a pro-Second Amendment group appear unable to justify their viewpoint.

Initially the Global News stood behind their doctored documentary but now things have finally changed. Couric said "I take responsibility for a decision that misrepresented an exchange I had with members of the Virginia Citizens Defense League."

Is it any wonder that conservatives are fed up and many will support Trump in November?
