Verbal contortions and the religion of peace

He wore black and had an Islamic State manifesto in his backpack along with an ISIS flag. He wrote a reminder to himself to say a prayer after each person he stabbed. He was a Muslim and yes, his last name was Mohammad, in honor of the so-called prophet he professed to believe in.

He stabbed four people at the University of California Merced campus as he shouted "Allahu Akbar," or "Allah is greater," as he carried out the horrible task.

Whatever motivated Faisal Mohammad to go on a stabbing spree has mystified the FBI. It has them scratching their collective heads, wondering why would a young, Muslim man, with a love for the Koran and everything to live for, attempt to murder innocent Christians.

After Muhammad Atta and his Muslim crew flew planes into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and also into a Pennsylvania field, failing to reach its White House target, George W. Bush reminded us that Islam is a religion of peace. He said to us that we are going to get those people responsible for the terrorism they perpetrated.

We wondered which people was he referring to

President Barack Hussein Obama also told us that Islam is a religion of peace, and he should know--he knows everything, just ask him. He said the ISIS is neither Islamic nor is it a state.

We wonder why they quote the Koran and call themselves Islamic. What religion is it that shares the same name, we wonder.

If only we could have gotten more information on Faisal Mohammad, we might have been able to get to the bottom, the root cause, as to why this fine young man wanted to kill strangers, whose only common denominator was that they were not Muslims.

If only we had more information, we might better understand what all the terrorism is about. Why do they insist on saying that they are Islamic?

The findings from the probe of the November 4, 2015 attack at the Merced campus were inconclusive. Neither local nor federal law enforcement could not come up with what motivated Faisal Mohammad to attack people indiscriminately.

Was it terrorism, or was it just a kid out for a walk? What difference does it make to know the answer?

"Every indication is that Mohammad acted on his own; however, it may never be possible to definitively determine why he chose to attack people on the UC Merced campus," the FBI's Sacramento office said in a statement.

One possible conclusion is that we have idiots leading the FBI, but perhaps they have to play the PC game because this administration insists upon it. But then, so did the Bush administration.

It seems that people in power, from presidents to law enforcement to government officials, will do excruciatingly painful verbal contortions to avoid the obvious. You'd think they'd pull a muscle in their tongues.

And what doesn't make us stronger, will eventually make us dead.
