Obama, impotency and our hostages in Iran

During a press conference with Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff in Washington today, president Obama was asked what he would say to the families  of those being held and tortured in Iran if the US went ahead and signed the nuclear agreement with Tehran without the release of: Amir Hekmati, Saeed Abedini, Bob Levinson and Jason Rezaian.

Obama replied: "With respect to U.S. citizens, U.S. persons who were held in Iran, this is something that we continue to push hard on, irrespective of the nuclear deal. It's a top priority for us to make sure that our people are treated fairly."

"And on the face of it," the Liar-in-Chief said, "in the case of these individuals who've been held, they have not been and they are not being afforded the basic due process and legal rights that we afford visitors to our country." So we're deeply concerned about it. We spend a lot of time pushing on it and we will continue to do so."

"There is no lessening of the sense of urgency," he added, but obviously did not qualify that with pointing out the degree of urgency for these four Americans is less than the urgency he had for Bowe Bergdahl, an Army deserter and traitor.

Rather than Obama making sure "that our people are treated fairly," he needs to ensure that they are released immediately or there is no deal. I thought we "leave no man behind." Does that only apply to traitors?

By saying that these men are not being treated fairly, he is pretending that they are not being tortured, malnourished and are lacking proper medical care. This situation is an emergency. All of these men are patriots.

The Obama administration can insist that these men be released all they want. Unless they are released, this administration simply exemplifies how impotent and useless they are, and how their words are laughed at by the world.
