The Associated Press and a number of liberal liberal arts colleges want to make language more user-friendly to those who are easily offended by gender stereotypes. The AP has stated:
"The 'she' and 'hers' that dominate introductions are keeping third-person company with 'they,' 'ze' and other alternatives meant to convey a more generous notion of gender."
Mills College, in Oakland, California is also known as the "Vasser of the West," because they do not accept humans born with a penis, only those born with a vagina. Some of us on the right think of those latter humans as females or women, but that's stereotyping. A group called "Mouthing Off!, composed of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender students are calling for their colleagues to be referred to by the pronoun of their choice.
In Olympia, Washington, the language police are replacing words like "fireman" with "firefighter," but my Spell Check says that it's wrong so Microsoft may get sued over this. No longer will we be protected by an Ombudsman, we will have an Ombuds do the job, in spite of what Spell Check tells me. Words such as "penmanship" "freshman," and "mankind," will be on the chopping block and I hope gender neutral, non-insulting, wussified words will take their place because I may just hit someone with my men's purse.
The left wants to change everything about our culture to make it fit their agenda. Yes, Obama meant it when he said that he will transform America if elected. Change is simply change. It isn't by definition a good thing. But if you love America, why would you want to change it?
Unless liberals are lying to us about loving it. Do liberals lie?
