Obama's Line in the Sand: Red or Yellow?

If the Syrian rebels are al Qaeda dudes, and Assad is a murderous Syrian dictator, and Obama drew a red line in the sand if chemical weapons are used in the revolution, (which it seems pretty obvious that they are being used since there is video evidence), then what the hell are we going to do now that Obama has drawn a line in the sand? Maybe we need more proof that Assad is killing his own people with poisonous gas. Maybe it's George Bush's fault this happened in the first place.

Obama is not taken seriously by men who would wage war. He talks tough, but underneath all of his tough words, all of his threats, and all of his promises, beats the heart of a free-range roaming chicken. He should have kept his silver tongue still and not have strutted his arrogant threats. Assad, while he has an enormously weak chin, has a strong following, and these are people whose lives are so miserable that they brag about how they love death more than we in the West love life, so I wouldn't bet against their claim. They will fight the rebels because of their allegiance to No-chin. The problem is, whose side is the right side for the USA to take? We don't yet know and we should not have gotten involved with this crisis until we do. What we do know is that both sides of the Syrian struggle hates Israel because their religion is anti-Semitic.

If the chemical weapons are moved toward the Syrian border to be used against Israel, then what? We know there's no love lost on Israel by Obama, but unlike him, Israel will actually do something about the situation and stop the terrorists at the border. This would mean a seriously large expansion of the Syrian conflict and with Israel as our ally, it is our moral obligation to help them. I'm not so sure Obama would meet this moral obligation--I imagine he'd somehow try to wiggle out of it--but in the end, I suspect he'd be obligated to support  Israel.

So Obama can pretend that the Syrian government is not using chemical weapons on their people, or that the rebels aren't using them on the people in order to win global sympathy and support, but there seems to be irrefutable evidence to the contrary.

What do we do now? I'm not sure I have the right answer. Obama has warned the Assad regime that we have drawn a line in the sand and using chemical weapons will be considered crossing that line and will result in consequences. If you have any idea of where we can go now that the threat is out there, please feel free to comment.

Personally, that "red line" is really "yellow."
