Hasan, the Verdict is Near

Tomorrow, Monday, is Nidal Hasan's big day. It's sentencing day for the Islamic terrorist, jihadist, Muslim murderer of US Army soldiers and civilians at Fort Hood four years ago. It has taken four years before justice could be served. Yes, the wheels of justice do move ever so slowly. While there will be no actual sentencing on Monday, families and victims who lived through the terror attack will be speaking and trying to convince the jury to give Hasan what he gave 13 victims: death.

Hasan, whose business card had the initials "SOA" after his name and rank; "SOA" is the acronym "Soldier Of Allah." This American born terrorist was on trial not for an act of jihad, not for terrorism, but for work place violence. In spite of his screaming "Allahu Akbar," (Allah is great") as he mowed unarmed people down, shooting them as they writhed on the floor at his feet, the government is comparing this to his "going postal." And by doing so, those who were killed as soldiers were denied the honor of receiving a Purple Heart for their wounds, mortal and otherwise; families denied death benefits that are normally given for combat deaths.

We have become so politically correct, (which, when you leave off the word 'politically' the term is an oxymoron) and willing to bend over backwards so as not to insult those who are killing non-Muslims, what they call infidels, that we are putting ourselves in a vulnerable position. It's exactly what the jihadists want us to do--pretend that Islam is a religion of peace, in spite of its 1400 year history of being anything but that. Hell, we are even allowing Hasan to grow his Muhammad-style beard, which is against military regulations.

Personally, I hope Hasan gets the death penalty because either way, he's going to be seen as a martyr to the small minds who support what he did. I cannot imagine how many more religious killings it is going to take before the PC liberals figure out the score.

My latest novel, Jihad Joe, is about Islamic terrorism and suspense.  In it I challenge the precepts of the religion through my protagonist, Zed Nill, a journalist, captured by terrorists and who is destined to be killed if the American President refuses to release three Gitmo prisoners.  Of course, American policy demands we never give in to terrorists, and for Zed, the clock is ticking.
