There is no Truth Except Allah--Is not an Option

James Harper
James Harper is a senior at Grand Junction, Colorado at a high school of the same name.  The school is in District 51 of the Mesa County School District--an amazing coincidence in light of the attempts to put a mosque at New York's Ground Zero by the name "Park 51 Cultural Center."  I guess 51 was Mohammad's lucky number.  Of course the "mosquers" (an invented verb describing the ongoing Islamic attempts at putting victory mosques at the scenes of Islamic atrocities like 9/11) had originally called it Cordoba House in honor of the mosque that was once a Spanish Catholic Church, but was taken as booty by the Muslim conquerors. But my mind is wandering off topic, so let's get back to our high school senior.

James was also a member of the school choir where Marcia Wieland is the director.  One of the songs she selected for the choir to sing was "Zikr," written by AR47, wait, that isn't his name, it's A.R. Rahman, a Muslim from India. The words of "Zikr" are in Urdu and were translated for the listening enjoyment of the infidels of Grand Junction; they go on to say, "there is no truth except Allah," and this is where James drew the line.  He quit the choir and was later interviewed by KREX-TV where he said, "This is worshipping another god, and even worshipping another prophet . . . I think there would be a lot of outrage if we made a Muslim choir say Jesus Christ is the only truth."

I respectfully disagree with James.  There would not be "a lot of outrage if we made a Muslim choir say Jesus Christ is the only truth."  There would be the burning of the school, killing of the choir, (the cool beheading way), and a demand that the parents of the dead students apologize for their horrible actions.  Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating about the actual repercussions that might occur, but not by very much.  Islam is the religion (if we agree to call it that just for sake of discussion) of intolerance.   The hub of Islam, Saudi Arabia, takes away Bibles at their airport and shreds them.  They take away your crosses, Rosary beads, and don't even get me started on what they do to Jewish yarmulkes.

But District 51 Spokes-Dhimmie, Jeff Kirtland, stood behind the decision to use the song, saying "Choral music is often devoted to religious themes . . . This is not a case where the school is endorsing or promoting any particular religion or other non-educational agenda.  The song was chosen because its rhythms and other qualities would provide an opportunity to exhibit the musical talent and skills of the group in competition, not because of its religious message or lyrics."

Rahman claims his song is not intended for a worship ceremony (because Islam usually forbids music, dancing, dating, bathing suits, bathing, and fun--he did not say this, I did) and has sold hundreds of millions of records.  He also said, "It is unfortunate that the student in Colorado misinterpreted the intention of the song.  I have long celebrated the commonalities of humanity and try to share and receive things in this way.  While I respect his decision for opting out, this incident is an example of why we need further cultural education through music."

I respectfully disagree with Rahman.  While I celebrate mankind's commonalities, I fear the differences alluded to by Islam and how it divides the world into compartments: Muslim vs. infidels vs. gays vs. apostates.  I will not even go into how women are viewed by Islam, but I can assure you that the National Organization for Women has done nothing to help those women oppressed and even murdered by Islamic doctrine.

God bless you James Harper.  Keep the faith and stay strong.

If you are interested in reading a novel about Islam, terrorism and suspense, I have provided 2 links below for both the hardcopy (softcover) edition and the ebook edition of my latest novel.  It's a story about Zed Nill, a NY based reporter who is taken hostage by Islamic terrorists and must talk his way out of captivity before he is beheaded the following day. The clock is ticking.
